ORLANDO- Eight athletes from Freedom High School made their futures evident today, as they officially signed
letters of intent or celebrated their commitment to attend colleges across the country for their sport. Feb. 4th marks the first day that high school seniors could sign scholarship papers for the following sports: Football, Mens’ and Womens’ Soccer, Water polo (Mens’ only), and more. The letter of intent is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and a college, by which the student-athlete agrees to attend the college for one academic year.
The following student-athletes signed as part of the NCAA National Letter of Intent Signing Day:
- Johan Escalante- will attend Goshen College to play Mens’ Soccer
- Emily Farrow- will attend Grand Valley State University to play Womens’ Lacrosse
- Marta Fuentes- will attend Florida South Western State to play Softball
- Vanessa Garcia- will attend Florida State College at Jacksonville to play Volleyball
- Nicholas Niama- will attend Southeastern University to play Soccer
- Darwin Obando- will attend Goshen College to play Mens’ Soccer
- Santiago Patino Pizano- Mens’Soccer (Undecided)
- Kerrie Skinner- will attend University of West Georgia Girls Soccer
